Freedom Convoy 2022 Ottawa

In January 2022, Canadians held a historic human rights protest in downtown Ottawa, Canada, in front of the Parliament building. Canadian truckers organized the 2022 Freedom Convoy in response to federal vaccine mandates for truckers. The protest was later expanded to protest all COVID public health mandates that violate the Canadian Charter of Rights, fundamental human rights, and international law.

Hundreds of heavy-duty trucks, pickup trucks and other vehicles, converged in Ottawa to unite in a peaceful protest against government restrictions. Thousands of people from all across the country arrived at Parliament Hill to stand in solidarity with the Canadian truckers. Freedom Convoy 2022 became one of the largest protests in Canada’s history with men, women and children of all ages, races, and backgrounds coming together to stand up against unethical government actions and celebrate their freedom.

A big part of my work as an independent photographer is focused on social issues and human rights activism. For the past two years I have been documenting the freedom protests across Canada and I spent 21 days in Ottawa in early 2022 capturing the events on Parliament Hill from the beginning to the very end. This led to the creation of an impressive body of work, both photography and aerial footage, capturing the spirit and unity of Canadian people of different backgrounds standing up together for their rights and freedoms.

Through this photography book I would love to share my work with you as a tangible keepsake of this important event in Canadian history that you can keep in your home and remember forever. Your donation will also help support the work I do, as well as independent photojournalism at large.

The goal of this campaign is to cover printing costs of 2,000 copies of 8.5" by 11" hardcover books, DonorBox and PayPal fees, book design and shipping costs. Freedom Convoy 2022 Ottawa photography book will feature a curated selection of 100+ photographs printed on extra thick 110 lb high quality satin paper for smooth touch and to be preserved for generations to come.
